Founded in 2007, Surgical Associates of Mansfield specializes in surgery of the gastrointestinal tract and abdominal wall, including heartburn/reflux surgery, gallbladder surgery, hernia surgery, weight loss surgery, and colon surgery. They perform endoscopy including colonoscopy for diagnostics and cancer screening, thyroid surgery, and vascular access surgery as well as skin and soft tissue surgery.

Reflux/Heartburn Surgery

Surgical Associates of Mansfield is part of the founding members of the Methodist Heartburn Center based out of the Methodist Mansfield Medical Center. They specialize in complex reflux disease operations and have provided relief to hundreds of patients suffering with GERD, heartburn, or any other type of reflux condition with minimally invasive surgical procedures including robotic hiatal/paraesophageal hernia repair, robotic fundoplication, endoscopic fundoplication (transoral incisionless fundoplication) and robotic LINX procedure.

Hernia Surgery

The surgeons of Surgical Associates of Mansfield perform abdominal wall operations for hernias that range from simple groin or bellybutton hernias to complex abdominal wall reconstructions. The da Vinci Robotically-assisted surgery platform allows them to repair hernias through a series of tiny incisions—rather than a large open incision—with enhancing 3-D vision, reducing downtime from the traditional 7 to 20 days to an average of two to three days and infection rates close to zero.

Weight-Loss Surgery

When Methodist Mansfield was searching for highly qualified surgeons to establish a weight-loss center, they approached the surgeons at Surgical Associates. Since that time, SAM surgeons have performed hundreds of successful bariatric surgeries including gastric bypass, sleeve gastrectomy, duodenal switch, revision surgery, removal of lap bands and/or conversion to a different bariatric surgery, and gastric balloon weight loss system.
