Stan Lowrance, DDS, FAGD, Chris Baker, DDS, FAGD, and Shanae Lowrance, DDS
Lowrance Dental is a family practice in every sense of the word. Not only is Dr. Lowrance treating multiple generations of local families— kids, parents, grandparents, and even great-grandparents—but he has been joined in his practice by both of his daughters. You won’t meet a prouder dad than Stan Lowrance, and he reports that his wife is thrilled to have all her chicks under one roof.
“I couldn’t be prouder of my girls,” said Dr. Stan, as he’s known to his patients. “Shanae grew up right here in Rockwall and graduated from Rockwall-Heath High School. She attended Tarelton State University on a basketball scholarship completing a bachelor’s degree in biomedical science before graduating from Texas A&M Dental College. She’s great with kids and our patients just love her.”
Dr. Stan’s older daughter, Chloe, played college volleyball and graduated from Texas State with a degree in early childhood development. In February, she moved back to Rockwall and helped her dad out at the practice while she looked for a local teaching job. Much to her father’s delight, Chloe enjoyed the practice so much she decided to stay on at Lowrance Dental.
“Their mom and I couldn’t be happier about it,” Dr. Stan said. “Both our girls grew up in Rockwall and now want to make it home for their own families. In a time when dentistry is becoming increasingly corporate and impersonal, we’re happy to provide dentistry that’s home-owned and home-grown. And our patients love knowing that when they come to see us, they’ll see the same faces every time. We know them and care about them and their families. That’s refreshing in this time of big-box dentistry. We’ve been here for 38 years and plan to be here a lot longer.”
Drs. Stan and Shanae are joined in practice by Dr. Chris Baker.
“Chris is a Weatherford boy and he’s the best. He’s actually my dentist,” Dr. Stan said.
A fellow in the Academy of General Dentistry, Dr. Baker offers full-mouth reconstruction, Invisalign braces, IV sedation, and all the latest dental technology. He’s an active member of the North Texas Dental Society and the Texas Academy of General Dentistry.
COMMUNITY-MINDED
Lowrance Dental hosted their third annual D-Day for V-Day on November 8th. Veteran services aren’t the only place Dr. Lowrance has found to give back to his community. He was voted Rockwall Man of the Year (1999-2000) and has received a Congressional Recognition Award for his outstanding contributions to his community. He began the Hot Rocks Bike Ride through the Rockwall Rotary Club, which has raised over $400,000 for student scholarships. He’s a member and former board member of the Chamber of Commerce, has served as a Rockwall ISD trustee, and has participated in international mission trips.
HIGHLY QUALIFIED DENTISTRY
Both Dr. Lowrance and Dr. Baker are Fellows of the Academy of General Dentistry, a designation achieved by only 6 percent of US dentists. The fellowship requires 500 hours of advanced education within a five-year time frame. They and Dr. Shanae are dedicated to completing continuing education far above what is required.
