David W. Ritter, MD, FACS

Practice founder Dr. David Ritter is a graduate of the prestigious medical school at Washington University in St. Louis, one of the top five medical schools in the country, and completed his surgical training at Baylor University Medical Center, Dallas. Dr. Ritter is board certified by the American Board of Surgery and is a member of The American Society of Bariatric and Metabolic Surgeons. Dr. Ritter and his wife, Kelly, make their home in Rockwall, where he has practiced medicine for the past 18 years, serving more than 18,000 patients in the greater Rockwall area.

Jake Abbott, MD

Dr. Jake Abbott completed his undergraduate education at the University of Oklahoma and graduated from the University of Oklahoma School of Medicine. He completed his extensive education, with five years of internship and surgical residency training, at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas, during which he consistently received the highest surgical scores. Dr. Abbott joined Rockwall Surgical Specialists in 2011 and is board certified by the American Board of Surgery.

Ashley Egan, MD

Dr. Ashley Egan graduated summa cum laude from the University of Georgia and completed medical school at University of Texas Southwestern Medical School. She went on to complete her internship and residency training in general surgery at Baylor University Medical Center. Throughout her education, Dr. Egan served in leadership positions and received numerous awards, including SEC Student Athlete of The Year. Board-certified by the American Board of Surgery, Dr. Egan focuses on bariatric and advanced laparoscopic surgery.
