Hujefa Y Vora, MD

Bharmal Internal Medicine

Dr. Hujefa Vora strives, above all, to be a good communicator. “Physicians must listen and take direction from our patients, interpret our findings, and convey these to them and their families in a clear, concise, and palatable fashion.”

As a child growing up in Fort Worth, Dr. Vora’s role models were always doctors. “My father fought end-stage renal disease for 25 years,” he said. “The care his doctors gave him sparked my passion for caring for others, a fire that still burns in me today.” This early experience taught Dr. Vora a sense of empathy for his own patients and their families, and insight into the complicated spectrum of fear, hope, anxiety, and elation they go through during the healing process.

“Primary care is a sacred partnership between physician and patient,” he said. “I believe in working with patients and their families as a trusted partner and friend first, then a diagnostician, problem-solver, and care coordinator.”

A unique feature of Dr Vora’s practice is his commitment to following patients through all phases of treatment, from the clinic to the hospital.

Joining Dr Vora in his commitment to his patients is Family Nurse Practitioner Noelle Petri. With her expertise and enthusiasm, Noelle brings a positive energy to Dr Vora’s office and makes it possible for Bharmal Internal Medicine to provide same-day appointments for established patients and expanded well-woman services.

In his free time, Dr. Vora enjoys spending time with his wife and young daughter as well as gardening, raising chickens, traveling, skiing, hiking, and cycling. He also does a great deal of volunteer work through his church community. He and his wife take yearly mission trips to third world countries in Asia and Africa. “It’s important for physicians to give back to their communities,” he says. “Without the support of my community, I wouldn’t be a doctor today.” He also donates his time to his preferred hospital, Medical City Arlington, where he recently served as Chief of Staff.

Dr. Vora graduated from Austin College with a degree in mathematics and completed his medical school and residency in internal medicine at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas. He spent a great deal of time also studying theater and communication arts. His love of theater has blended naturally into his medical career. “Much like one of my heroes, Dr. Patch Adams,” Dr Vora smiles, “I believe that laughter is the best medicine. We entertain, and we heal.”
