Fisher Cardiology and Electrophysiology
Searching for a board-certified cardiologist whom you see in a heartbeat? Dr. Russell Fisher’s experience, skill and advanced training, focus on prevention and belief in treating the whole patient make him stand out. Patients also appreciate his friendly, caring bedside manner.
“Our bodies function as a whole unit, not just pieces and parts. For example, there can be cardiac-related issues associated with thyroid disease and the lungs can affect the heart,” Dr. Fisher commented.
Dr. Fisher urges everyone to see a cardiologist if heart disease runs in their family or if they experience atypical symptoms. “Women are especially prone to atypical symptoms such as shortness of breath and unexplained fatigue that are really heart-related. Around 20 percent of diabetics have heart problems without symptoms.”
CHOICE MATTERS
Dr. Fisher educates patients, offers options including the latest treatments and performs complete non-invasive cardiology procedures such as echocardiogram and nuclear stress imaging.
He credits his training in cardiology and electrophysiology (the study of heart rhythm abnormalities) at the Cleveland Clinic, a teaching hospital and leader in medical research, top-ranked in cardiology and heart surgery. He explained, “I was exposed to many significant medical conditions at the Cleveland Clinic which I may not have seen in other cardiology programs. This impacts how I approach diagnostic evaluation and treatment plans.”
In addition, patients aren’t forced to go to a specific hospital because it’s the only one where they can be seen by Dr. Fisher.
“Since I’m not employed by a hospital, I can follow through and see my patients at Texas Health Harris Methodist Hurst-Euless-Bedford, North Hills Hospital and Baylor Medical Center at Grapevine,” he said.
